Terms of Service

Last updated: March 23, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using KnowChat ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and KnowChat, operated by Azeem Haider.

2. Description of Service

KnowChat allows users to upload documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT), create AI-powered chatbots trained on those documents, and embed those chatbots on external websites via a script tag. The Service uses large language model APIs to generate responses based on document content.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts for the purpose of abuse.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringes on any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Upload documents containing personal data of others without their consent
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or exploit the Service infrastructure
  • Circumvent plan limits or access controls
  • Use the Service for spam, phishing, or any malicious purpose
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules without notice.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the documents you upload. By uploading content, you grant KnowChat a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and transmit that content solely to provide the Service to you.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to upload and use the content and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights. You are solely responsible for ensuring uploaded documents do not contain confidential or regulated personal data (e.g., health records, financial data) unless you have the appropriate authority to do so.

6. DMCA and Copyright

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a DMCA notice to azeemhaider0328@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • Identification of the infringing material and its location on the Service
  • Your contact information
  • A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorised
  • A statement that the information is accurate and you are authorised to act
  • Your physical or electronic signature

7. Subscription and Billing

KnowChat offers a Free plan and a Pro plan. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe.

  • Free plan: 1 chatbot, 3 documents, 50 messages per day. No charge.
  • Pro plan: Unlimited chatbots, documents, and messages. Billed monthly at the rate shown at checkout.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial periods unless required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Responses generated by KnowChat chatbots are produced by AI and are based solely on the content of the uploaded documents. They may be incomplete, incorrect, or outdated. You should not rely on AI-generated responses as professional legal, medical, financial, or other regulated advice.

We are not responsible for any decisions made based on content generated by the Service.

9. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time with reasonable notice where possible. We are not liable for downtime or data loss caused by events outside our reasonable control.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KnowChat and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KnowChat and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is based, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
